Cupid Was There
The National Gallery, London
Cupid is in more of the National Gallery than he'd like: holding a mirror, beating a man with his bow, being kissed by his own mother. He'll take the two of you round six of his jobs, oldest first, and tell you what the labels leave out. At each one he hands over a letter, never in the order it belongs.
A date of about an hour round the National Gallery, played on your phones. Find the paintings Cupid had a hand in, answer a question at each, and hear what the labels leave out.

Good to know
- Who is it for?
- Couples, a first date, two friends with an hour to spare. Anyone who'd rather look at the paintings than read about them.
- Do we need tickets?
- No. The Gallery is free to get into, and the route keeps to its free rooms.
- When can we play?
- Any day the Gallery is open. Set off by 4:30pm, or 7:30pm on a Friday. The Gallery closes at 6pm, and at 9pm on Fridays. Rooms sometimes close at short notice, so check the Gallery's website on the day.
- Is it an official Gallery tour?
- No. We wrote it, and you play it on your own phones. It isn't an official National Gallery product and isn't connected with the Gallery in any way.
